The Lyme Disease Blood Test at The Wellness Pharmacy is £199 and is carried out at 43 Shad Thames, London SE1 2NJ, a few minutes from Tower Bridge and London Bridge. Appointments can be booked online.
Why test
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection spread by ticks. Left untreated it can cause fatigue, joint pain and more serious complications, and those complications are much harder to manage than an early infection. Testing gives you a clear answer rather than weeks of wondering, and it means treatment can begin without delay if it is needed.
Who it is for
People usually book the Lyme Disease Blood Test after a known tick bite, after spending time in grassland or woodland, or because they have started to feel unwell and want the possibility ruled in or out. You do not need a GP referral, and you do not need to have kept the tick.
What happens
The test is a blood sample taken at the pharmacy by our team. We can also remove an attached tick at the same visit if you still have one, and if your result comes back positive our independent prescribers can supply antibiotic treatment at £49.
If you are unsure whether to test, or when to test after a bite, call us on 020 3771 9927 and one of our pharmacists will talk it through with you.
