Our Tick Removal Service offers safe, professional removal of attached ticks at The Wellness Pharmacy, 43 Shad Thames, London SE1 2NJ. The service is £60 and can be booked online or arranged by calling the pharmacy.
Why it matters
Ticks are easiest to deal with when they are removed properly and promptly. Pulling at a tick, twisting it, or trying to burn or smother it can leave mouthparts behind in the skin or squeeze the contents of the tick back into the bite, both of which raise the risk of infection being passed on. Our team removes the tick cleanly with the correct technique and then checks the site.
What happens at your appointment
A member of our team will look at the bite, remove the tick, and clean the area. We will check the site for early signs of infection and talk you through what to watch for over the following days and weeks, including the kind of rash and the general symptoms that should prompt you to come back.
What comes next
If there is any reason for concern, we can arrange a Lyme disease blood test at £199, and where a test is positive our independent prescribers can supply antibiotic treatment at £49. You do not need a GP referral for any of it.
